The Council of Elders: Lost Fans Age 35 & Over - Lucky Thread #7

The original Council of Elders thread was created by pacejunkie in Fall, 2006 as a home on the Fuselage for those of us age 35 & up to just sit back and be ourselves.

Welcome to the SEVENTH evolution of this thread! Feel free to join if you're 35 or older, just hop on in and state your age. (If you're shy about age, "35 or older" is just fine)

Cheers,
ame en peine

I was born in the 1960's when music was music, you played it on a phonograph, you listened to your pocket transistor and watched Batman on your 13" black and white TV. It was good enough for us! We loved it!

*ahem* Welcome to The Council of Elders, the group for Lost fans age 35 and over. You know who you are, so come and join. You remember eight track tapes, Donny and Marie, leg warmers, pong, Schoolhouse Rock. Maybe you watched the Monkees when it first aired, maybe you saw it when it reran on weekday afternoons when you came home from school. Either way, there's a place for us here!

So if you sometimes fret because you feel older than the combined age of every PB&J shipper on Lost Forum, you pull your hair out (or what's left of it) when someone says 'Cheech who?', then this is where you need to be.

Please state your age and then wear it proudly!

Aaahhhh a new thread to tramp through!! Thanks Ame for the heads-up. I really belong here with this new season. I'm more confused than ever and not sure if it is age or the program.

did everyone enjoy this week's episode as much as i did? The lostaways as the numbers, ben getting snarky about the coffee filter, a wild ride from the smokey cam...woo hoo, can't wait for tuesday!

eta, it was disney's wonderful world of color for me too, ame.

Bickle, glad to hear your weekend was a good one and the sun is shining.

I really, really liked last week's episode, and am so looking forward to tomorrow night. So many questions, so many possibilities. A nice diversion to keep my mind occupied.

Sunday night just wasn't the same without wild kingdom, disney, ed sullivan & bananza.

Saturday night, (depending on the decade) was the jackie gleason show, love boat, carol burnet, fantasy island, and sammy terry's nightmare theater! -(that's an indiana thing!)
I forgot about Bonanza. It was quite a thrill when David Cassidy was going to guest star on that (at least I think it was Bonanza )

Saturday nights were the best - Carol Burnett, didn't you just love her and that whole cast. Love Boat, Fantasy Island.. all good stuff.

Tom - I think we had the equivalent of that Sammy Terry's Nightmare Theater - Ours was Chiller Theater... Scared the you-know-what outta me. The intro was a 6-fingered hand coming up through the dirt. They played those good old chilller movies. I guess it's still on there, hosted by Elvira. That's good, another generation to enjoy those great old movies. http://www.wpix.com/shows/chiller/

Ha, you're right.. Jim was always being sent in the path of the wild elephants, boars, tigers.. with not much more than an anesthesia dart gun.. Sometimes those darts took way too long to kick in, and we'd be sitting around the TV horrified wondering if this is the week Jim's gonna bite it!

I think everyone at some point (our age anyway) wanted to be a Lennon sister.. Those chiffon confection dresses.. Then of course I discovered Grace Slick and wanted to be her instead..

No problem wanders.. I know on most days I'm losing my glasses at least 5 times, so forget about trying to find a new thread..

I hear ya, I will need to be walked through this season for sure.. Looking forward to the brilliant elder-minds to shed some light on what the heck they think is going on !

Ah, a nice, new, thread; it seems so clean and organized...and fun...

What do we do if we're older now than when we signed up and need to update our age, ahem?

you can...
a) let your dim-witted threadmistress know your age & I will update it
b) keep it as is and bask in the light of perpetual youth
c) bribe said threadmistress and get a younger age. tee hee
d) Or get an older age for various reasons.. (see Lost_In_DelandFla's age on post #1)
